OEC Refresher

October 22, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Check-in on Sunday begins at 8:00AM on the east side of the deck in front of the lodge.

Three things you MUST DO IN ADVANCE:

  1. REGISTER:

You must sign-up for this refresher course in advance on-line at nsp.org. Log in to your NSP member page, go to Member Resources, and on the pull-down menu, choose "Course Schedule." Search for the Course Number #F050170029. Click on the course title and it will give you the option to register in the course. There is no charge for the course, but be sure to put the course in your cart and complete the check-out. Please register for this course as soon as possible, it only takes about 2 minutes.

  1. ONLINE COURSE:

You must complete the OEC 2017 Cycle A On-line Hybrid Refresher and print the completion certificate to bring to the refresher. Go to your NSP page, and choose the "For Members" blue box on the left. Then choose the last tile in the top row called "Online Learning". Access code is "nsponline" if it asks for one. If you have taken an online course or refresher before, you already have an account. If not, choose the "new student" box and create an account. Once in, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on "Courses", and then select the 2017 OEC Cycle A Refresher, and click on "Launch or Module 1" to begin the course. It consists of 7 modules and takes about 2 hours to complete. You don't have to complete the online course all at once if you don't have time, but finish the module you are working on before leaving. When you sign back in, it should show your completed modules. At the end, you must complete the survey and only then can you print the completion certificate to bring to the refresher.

  1. WORKBOOK:

As in the past, you must also complete the Refresher Study Workbook that you received in the mail and bring it to the refresher to be handed in at check-in. If you didn't receive the Refresher Study Workbook in the mail or have misplaced it, you may download it from the NSP website (nsp.org) in the "Education Resources" section under OEC.

Remember to bring the following items to the OEC/CPR refresher:

  • Completely stocked first aid pack or vest.
  • Completed Refresher Study Workbook with the Case Reviews.
  • Online Hybrid 2017 Cycle A Completion Certificate.
  • OEC card.
  • NSP card or number.
  • New CPR book if you purchased one at last year's refresher.

    • If you didn't, you can get one this year.
  • CPR pocket mask.
  • Current CPR Card & Recertification money if you plan to recertify with us.
  • Sun lotion, drinks and snacks to last you through the day.

    • There will be no lunch break.

You should study the CPR material in advance if you are going to participate in the CPR recertification course. The latest CPR Guidelines are attached. If you cannot make our OEC refresher, remember there is only one other refresher in the Region this year – Claremont on October 1st 8am at Cahuilla Park at 1717 N. Indian Hill Blvd. All above is the same for this refresher, EXCEPT the course # F600170001.
