MCI/Triage exercise – CERT

MCI/Triage was one of our stations at this year's cycle B refresher. Alex Soto, his CERT team from the University of La Verne and the local Fire Department will be conducting their own MCI/Triage exercise on Nov 1st, 3rd and 11th on the university grounds. If you'd like to take part in this exercise on any of those dates and see how our trained firefighters execute their MCI operations, Alex is looking for injured victims. Details are below and Alex can be contacted at asoto@laverne.edu

Exercise: Mass Casualty Incident Training and Triage

Agency: La Verne Fire Department

Dates of Exercise:

*Tuesday,  Nov 1 between 1-5 pm

*Thursday, Nov 3 between 1-5 pm

*Friday, Nov 11 between 1-5 pm

Location: University of La Verne (Sneaky Park) –  (Corner of Third Street between C and D Street across the street from LV Fire Department Station 1)

Dress: Comfortable clothing and weather appropriate

Side Notes:

*The time required for this exercise will most likely not require the full four hours to complete the actual triage and treatment exercise. If you are not able to participate for the duration of the exercise that is OK. You can still participate for the time you are available.

** There will be touching involved by our firefighters and CERT trained members as they conduct their physical assessment on those who will be playing victims that are injured in this mock exercise. If you are not comfortable with this but would still like to participate please let me know in order to assign you with an appropriate task which will allow you to still contribute to this very important exercise.
